For the import of configurable products (= variant articles like e.g. clothing with different sizes or colors) the field product_options is required in the CSV file.
In the main article (= configurable product) the fields which are responsible for the selection of the sub-products are specified in the product_options field.
You want to import clothing with different sizes and colors into Magento.
In Magento, the attribute fields size and color should be present first, where again all possible sizes are defined.
In the CSV file, "size,color" must now be entered in the product_options column in the line of the configurable product.
To "link" the simple products to the configurable product, the attributes "size,color" must be filled with these both the column size and color.
It is also important that the configurable product is defined first in the import file and the simple products that are to be assigned to it are defined afterwards.
The assignment is made on the basis of the SKU. The SKU of the simple products must start in the same way as the SKU of the configurable product
sku | type_id | product_options | color | size |
---|---|---|---|---|
ARMANI-SHIRT | configurable | size,color | ||
ARMANI-SHIRT-blue-L | simple | blue | L | |
ARMANI-SHIRT-blue-X | simple | blue | X | |
ARMANI-SHIRT-red-L | simple | red | L |
Alternatively, the sku of the configurable product can be noted in the configurable_product column.
It must still be ensured that the configurable product is already in Magento.
sku | type_id | product_options | color | size | configurable_product |
